Our Program for 2013  -  2014

The Three R's School offers preschool, kindergarten and first, second and third grades in a program emphasizing phonics and reading.  We use research-based methods and multisensory Montessori materials related by theme, interest and skill level.  Children learn through hands-on play and structured activities.  Teachers and students have fun as they use games, songs, toys, craft activities and workbooks to explore the following subjects together:

Curriculum

Phonics and Reading
Math and Science
Children's Literature
Great Heroes of American History
Bible Stories
The Golden Rule
Art and Music

Piano lessons (sign up separately)

Manners and How to Make Friends
Playground Time

In the Montessori classroom, the child is given tasks carefully structured to his/her readiness level. Mastering these tasks gradually builds self-confidence and the child discovers the joy of learning and the satisfaction of accomplishment.

Class size.  Classes are limited to ten children per teacher, with a maximum of  individualized instruction.  We think it is important that every child progresses at his/her own rate.

Minimum age. Children may begin at three years, if they are potty-trained and verbal.
